CORRIE star Samia Smith is being comforted over her marriage split by her new on-screen love interest, The Sun can reveal.
She has formed a solid friendship with Will Thorp since splitting from her property developer husband Matt Smith after five years of marriage.
They have a 15-month-old daughter, Freya.
Pals said that Will, 33 - who plays Chris Gray - had been "a tower of strength and support" to Samia, 28.
She and Matt issued a statement saying their split was "a mutual decision and no one else is involved".
Will, whose wife Sam and two children live 200 miles away in Somerset, joined Corrie as surly builder Chris six months ago.
