Coronation Street: Katherine Kelly says award would top a great year

National Television Awards nominee Katherine Kelly is hoping to bring a gong home so she can share it with her colleagues at Coronation Street.
The actress, who plays Corrie's Becky McDonald, said a win in the serial drama performance category would be the "icing on the cake" of a great year for the 50-year-old soap.
Describing her nomination as "very flattering", she said: "I'd just love Coronation Street to sweep the awards this year and it would be great to take some silverware back for the team. If I won I'd keep it at Corrie rather than at mine. It would be one for the team."
She added: "With it being the 50th year, it would be the icing on the cake."
The actress is up against Emmerdale's Danny Miller and EastEnders stars Lacey Turner and Steve McFadden in the category.
"Danny's a good friend of mine. If I didn't get it I'd love Danny to," Katherine said.
The four soap stars in the newcomer line-up at this year's NTA's are Corrie's Paula Lane, Emmerdale's Marc Silcock, EastEnders' Ricky Norwood and Holby City's Olga Fedori.
EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks are all nominated for best soap.
